Centivizer Inc. (www.centivizer.com) – a University of Toronto spinoff company – is hosting a hackathon to design and develop applications for our Centivizer platform. Centivizer is a wireless network of modules that work together to solve the problem of physical and cognitive inactivity in people that are aging using a reward-based system of activities.

SAMPLE Centivizer Module: A person is able to independently navigate through various worldwide scenes (e.g., gondola ride in Venice) using controls such as a wheel or a joystick and 360 degree videos.

DEMO VIDEO: To see a demo video of our Centivizer prototypes in action, visit: https://youtu.be/rXdaBxm_Tx8

PAPER on our Centivizer platform can be downloaded here: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/316945897_A_System_for_Rewarding_Physical_and_Cognitive_Activity_in_People_with_Dementia

We welcome pre-existing teams or sign-up and we can connect you with a team.

Selection of teams will be a competitive process and will be based on skills and relevant experience. After indicating your interest through Eventbrite, please help us understand your background and interest by filling in the following form: https://goo.gl/forms/gpEvC4Twdiq6re1t2

PLEASE BRING: A curious, open mind, willingness to collaborate, your laptop and any other devices you like to work on.

We are looking for a winning solution that can:

– Keep people physically and mentally activated

– Work within or alongside our Centivizer System

PRIZE: We will be judging your solutions and the best idea will win $5000 in cash to be used to pay your costs for developing your Centivizer solution. We will also provide the winning team with mentorship and other assistance, as needed.
