Job duties

  • Responsible for facilities maintenance, renovations and safety of the department.
  • Principle contact between all the Facilities and Services departments and the departmentīs management, faculty, staff and students.
  • Manages all renovation projects, moves, telephone issues and building repairs.
  • Coordinates building security including issuing of keys and access cards.
  • Assists in space planning for the department.
  • Participates in building safety reviews and inspections.

Job duties

  • Supervises the day-to-day financial administration and purchasing of all research accounts. Manages the work flow of the research staff.
  • Oversees the processing of payroll for casuals, post-doctoral fellows, and undergraduate students.
  • Oversees the processing of invoices, expense reimbursements, journal entries (i.e. debit memos) recoveries, corporate MasterCard.
  • Main point of contact for all granted based expense reimbursement submissions.
  • Reconciles, monitors, and reports all research account expense activities.
  • Prepares all financial reports for external and internal use related to research accounts including year end reports, and granting agency requests.
  • Deals with internal and external audit request.
  • Main contact for University Research Services and External granting agencies.
  • Main contact for advising faculty of research grant accounting issues, policies, and protocols.
