Fluid Sciences are typically experimental and theoretical studies that enhance our understanding of fluid mechanics and its applications. One focus of these studies is how fluids move and what forces are acting on them. Fluids include liquids and gases. These studies include boundary layer phenomena, computational fluid mechanics, droplet sprays, fluid-structure interactions, flow control, microfluid mechanics, molecular dynamics, multiphase flows, turbulent flows, and many others.
Applications of Fluid Sciences are in almost every aspect of our life from blood flow in the vessels of a human being to the aerodynamic design of an aircraft to the flow of drinking water in the pipes of a city.
