Engineering Projects Wanted
The Arts and Science Mentorship program links 140 all-star high school students from the GTA with University of Toronto professors from a variety of departments, involving them in faculty-led research projects of all kinds; a series of interactive lectures culminating in a project, independent work in a particular area, small group work, field work, or a combination. The possibilities are endless! Professors can choose to accept one student, a small group, or an unlimited number of qualified students. More information is available at: http://www.artsci.utoronto.ca/prospective/highschoolprograms/enrichment#1

MIE Professor Andreas Mandelis currently offers a project and the program would love to have additional engineering projects available. Formula SAE Goes to Germany
picture4
The University of Toronto Formula SAE Team, led by Team Captain Luke Osmokrovic, goes to Germany from August 5th to 9th for this year’s European Competition. The team will compete at the Hockenheim Racetrack, delivering design defense presentations and racing in a series of trials that will lead up to the final race day. Eighty other teams from across North America, Europe, the Far East and Australia, including most of the top ten, will stand off at what may be the most intense Formula SAE event to date. Besides their status as University of Toronto’s most successful international competitor, the team currently stands at 4thplace out of 500 teams in the world, and they intend to maintain their usual intensity on the track.
