Instability of Liquid Jets & Layers:

One of the most important fundamental problems that occur in the atomization process is the instability of a liquid jet or a liquid ligament.   I have  conducted extensive experimental investigation of jet instability extending the envelop of knowledge to the high wavelength instability region.

I have also studied this problem through solution of the full Navier-Stokes equations without any simplification.  Novel conditions for the non-linear instability of a liquid jet are discovered.
