2- Combustion Research The primary motivation for my experimental research has been to improve the spray combustion systems. Spray combustion is used in a wide variety of systems such as in gas turbines and rockets. Sprays are formed by atomizing a liquid mass into many droplets. My research has been mainly focused at the process of atomization and the combustion of liquid drops, which makes the fundamental aspect of the spray combustion processes. I have conducted an extensive study on the combustion processes in drops and sprays. I have looked at the combustion of single droplets as well as spray. I have conducted numerous studies on the flame propagation along liquid fuel pools and liquid fuels gels. These studies were targeted towards obtaining alternative fuels for the combustion systems. I have conducted research in the grain design for solid rocket combustion systems. Publications |
