This laboratory is dedicated to non-intrusive fluid velocity measurements in both Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids with emphasis on low Reynolds numbers. Current applications include the flow of Newtonian liquids through porous media at low Reynolds numbers. Another area of application involves the flow of non-Newtonian elastic liquids. Results from these tests are aiding in the development of constitutive equations, or behavioral models, for the flow of these complex fluids.
