Degree programs

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering offers four graduate degree programs:

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

This is a full-time, research-oriented programs. Financial support in the form of fellowships, research assistantships, and teaching assistantships is available for both Canadian residents, and for visitors studying under a student visa.

Ph.D. program

Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.)

This is a full-time, research-oriented programs. Financial support in the form of fellowships, research assistantships, and teaching assistantships is available for both Canadian residents, and for visitors studying under a student visa.

M.A.Sc. program

Master of Engineering (M.Eng.)

This program is not research-oriented, but rather targeted at students trying to improve their technical abilities. The program requires the completion of 10 graduate courses (or seven courses plus a project), either on a full-time or part-time basis. This program is normally available only to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.

M.Eng. program

Industrial Master's Program in Design and Manufacturing (ADMI)

This part-time program is offered collaboratively by several Ontario universities. It is targeted at practicing engineers with some industrial experience. It is normally available only to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
