Course Enrolment Instructions

MIE graduate students enrol in, add, and drop courses themselves through the Student Web Service (SWS) at www.rosi.utoronto.ca.

It is the student's responsibility to meet the deadlines to add and drop courses without academic penalty.

NOTE: The last day to cancel a course or registration without academic penalty is not the same as the last date to be eligible for a refund. For the fees refund schedule, click here.

The MIE Graduate Studies Office will continue to enrol all students in reading courses, and M.Eng. students in a project. For enrolment instructions, please send an email to . For M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. students, credit for the Ethics in Research Seminar (JDE1000H) and the MIE Seminar Series (SRM3333Y and SRD4444Y) will be automatically posted when the requirements have been met.

Information Required by ROSI

You'll require the following information when enroling in courses via the Student Web Service (SWS), otherwise known as ROSI:

1. course number (e.g. MIE1001H)
2. section code: F for Fall term courses; S for Winter term courses
3. teaching method: LEC (lecture)
4. teaching section: 0101

Registration and course add/drop deadlines for 2011/12

Fall session (September to December 2011):

August 8 - course enrolment on ROSI begins.

August 26 - Deadline for payment of tuition fees or to request to register without payment.

September 16 - Final date for registration. After this date, students must go to SGS with a receipt of payment and pay the late registration fee.

September 26 - Final date to add full-year and September session courses on ROSI, and to submit a supervisor's course approval to the Graduate Studies Office.

October 31 - Final date to drop September session courses without academic penalty.

Winter session (January to April 2012):

January 23 - Final date to add January session courses on ROSI, and to submit a supervisor's course approval to the Graduate Studies Office.

February 27 - Final date to drop full-year and January session courses without academic penalty.

Summer session (May to August 2011):

For courses that run from May to August:

May 13 - Final date to add a course and to submit a supervisor's course approval to the Graduate Studies Office.

June 3 - Final date to drop a course without academic penalty.

For two week intensive session courses: 

Deadline to add a course is the start date of the course.

Deadline to drop a course is 3 days before the lecture end date.
