Dr. W.L. Cleghorn: Undergraduate Studies
Awards
- Mr. A. Gilles, Mr. J. Kerr, Mr. B. Lansdorp and Ms. N. Tessaro were awarded the Wallace G. Chalmers Engineering Design Scholarship in third year engineering. These students completed their project entitled Bedeski. The project was part of the course Kinematics and Dynamics of Machines (MIE301F), taught by W.L. Cleghorn.
- Mr. Jerry Zielinski was awarded the Wallace G. Chalmers Engineering Design Scholarship in fourth year engineering. This student completed his thesis entitled Design of the 2005 University of Toronto Formula SAE Brake Caliper. The project was based on the Bachelors thesis under the supervision of W.L. Cleghorn. (Not previously reported in an annual activity report.)
- Mr. Vajira Jayasinghe, Mr. Marcus Obal and Mr. Alex Perez received the First Place Award at the 2005 University of Toronto Partners for the Advancement of Collaborative Engineering Education (PACE) Competition. The award was based on project that was completed as part of the course Kinematics and Dynamics of Machines (MIE301F).
- Mr. Jacob P. Dick, Mr. John-Michael R. S. Erlendson and Ms. Ashley L. Wellman received the Second Place Award at the 2005 University of Toronto Partners for the Advancement of Collaborative Engineering Education (PACE) Competition. The award was based on project that was completed as part of the course Kinematics and Dynamics of Machines (MIE301F).
- Mr. Paul Capulong, Mr. Girish Chhatwani and Ms. Romin Jarrah were presented the Connections Award on April 11, 2006 for their presentation entitled Measuring Solder Wave Height in a Selective Soldering Process Using Optical (Laser) Sensors". (Click here for image of participants)
